The Tool Library are a local not-for-profit group who makes available a wide range of tools to the community for a small yearly subscription fee of $60 ($40 for concession holders). So for about the cost of one power tool, a member can instead have a year’s access to nearly all the hand and power tools they will ever need! In addition, they run workshops teaching skills such as making tables to sharpening tools.
The Brunswick Tool Library is a space in which members can borrow tools, learn new skills, and share tips and ideas on everything DIY. Funding raised will enable the money will go towards the purchase of new tools, as well as the repair of some of our broken items. In particular, the Tool Library’s donated Triton workbench needs some TLC, and they would love to see it working again.
In the future any community groups wishing to get involved need to put in a submission to be selected. It’s an easy process. They’ll just need to give us some basic information about their group and how the money will assist them.
It doesn’t matter how crazy or conservative, batty or boring the community program is – if I benefits locals then the campaign is in with a shot at being part of Chips for Change.
